Mrs. Lemmer - Kindergarten

Hello Students, Parents & Caregivers,

Welcome! I am so excited to get to know you all this year. 

This is currently my 30th year teaching and my 27th year in Redondo Beach.  I taught 5th and 6th grade in Sacramento for three years before returning to Southern California. I taught a 5th/6th grade combo for three years at Birney Elementary before moving to 2nd grade. I taught 2nd grade for 14 years until I became a Technology TOSA (teacher on Special Assignment) in the I.T. Department at the district office. I loved the diversity of being able to work with students and teachers of all grades, TK - 12th and helping them learn how to use technology in the classroom.

After six years as a TOSA, I decided to return to my “home,” Birney. I absolutely love teaching kindergarten! It is so rewarding to see those “aha” moments, especially when they crack the code and start reading! The students and families are so kind, loving and enthusiastic. I feel so lucky to teach at a school with a wonderful staff and an amazing community and PTA.

I live in Hermosa Beach with my teenage daughter, Samantha, 16-year-old Chihuahua, Scout, and our orange tabby cat, Cabo. I love spending time with family and friends, volunteering for Samantha's Girl Scout Troop, traveling, enjoying the beautiful South Bay and beaches, power walking on the Strand, biking, crafting, thrifting/antiquing, trying all different restaurants, and going to my very favorite place, the Comedy & Magic Club. 

I am looking forward to a great year!
