Kate Raisanen, Fourth Grade

Hello, Birney Families! My name is Ms. Kate Raisanen, and I am so happy to be a Birney Bobcat! This is my eighth year teaching, and have experience teaching first and fourth grade, reading intervention, and most recently worked as an instructional coach. I received my bachelor's degree in elementary education in Minnesota at SCSU, a Reading and Literacy Added Authorization from USC, and am currently finishing up my master's degree in educational leadership from CSUB. I love creating a positive classroom environment and helping students succeed academically and socially! 

 

When I am not in my classroom, I am either playing volleyball, practicing yoga, dancing, reading, traveling or soaking in the sunset on the beach.
